Klay Oven | Oak Park/River Forest | Indian/Pakistani | Restaurant
New Oak Park location of the Indian restaurant.

Our Review

This new Oak Park offspring lacks the decor, ambience, and polish of its River North parent, but we enjoyed the food. Mulligatawny soup was just the thing to chase away the winter chill. The saag goshi was tangy and featured tender, tasty chunks of lamb. Dum ki ghobi was also flavorful. Garlic naan was not the best (I like Bhabi’s), but was quite good. Points off: the manager and server were almost assaultive after we were seated (please, just let me look over the menu for a few minutes), the two-top tables are not spacious enough for all the plates of food, and some of the papadam was burnt. A tasty meal, though -- I’ll be back.
