Robert Patrick's 1975 drama is a melancholy reflection on how idealism curdled into disillusion and decadence in the decade following President Kennedy's 1963 assassination. Set in an East Village bar on a rainy afternoon, it offers interwoven monologues by five people: a gay actor in the Off-Off-Broadway theater scene, an aspiring starlet, a weary former student radical, a paranoid Vietnam vet, and an earnest teacher who clings to the myth of the Kennedy era as Camelot. Directed by Terry McCabe, this Promethean Theatre Ensemble production fails to build a compelling dramatic arc. But Tom Weber delivers the actor's harrowing story with fierce conviction. --Albert Williams
