Re: “New Budapest Orpheum Society

While on a business trip, I wandered into the Chicago Cultural Center mostly to view the building, and stumbled on this free concert. The setting under the dome on the third floor was not only stunning, it provides an acoustic experience that is truly unique. The concert on the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht was a gift - if music and song could recreate a moment in history, the New Budapest Orpheum achieved it - the singers, especially Julia Bentley were incredibly well prepared and committed to honoring the occasion of the beginning of the Holocaust. And to think the city of Chicago offered this gratis to the public is truly impressive.
