Re: “Maggiano's Little Italy

Maggiano's always delivers a solid performance - the portions are huge and fresh - while delivering a great bang for the buck. If you are looking for something orginal - this isn't the place, however if you are looking for fresh good itlian - this is the money. Always crowded, unless you have a reservation you best go in a off peak time - like us. The downtown spot is always hopping. One inconsistency to this place is the service - unfortuntly on thsi trip we got a real loer of a waiter - slow and unattentive - but as long as you know what you want the restraunt will deliver to your expectations.

Re: “Bella Notte

We got delivery - so I missed out on seeing the place - but the food was good - kinda like a maggiano's but a little heavier in cream sauces and pasta density. The salad was top notch - but the entree's were just good - not great or bad - but very acceptable. What is great about this place - is the fact that they deliver - so you can have fresh hot italian at home - also they give you piping hot fresh bread - a total bonus. so while i won't rush there to eat - i will definatly order again.

well if you are looking for ultra cheap tasteless pizza - you have found the right place - although i will say this - while i found to be totally unacceptable - my beau actually liked it, so maybe it is a chic thing - but i do expect a little more from my 'za.

Re: “Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

Lou's has the BEST za in town in my opinion. the crust makes this specialty unbeatable. i alsways order the pep instead of sausage b/c i don't care for their sausage pizza - however i may be in a minority on that point, b/c my dinner partner loved their sausage. The dining area lacks a bit something being so small - but the overall dining experience due to decor and ambiance was not necessarily bad.

Although the place is super crowded on the wknds with long waits and the tables and seating is unaccomodating and a bit uncomfortable - the food is SO worth the bother...for a true columbian fare this place is NOT to be missed! the empanadas are excellent and the accomping green tomatoe salsa is an excellent topper. Also all of the entrees are plentiful and could be shared to result in a very reasonable price. Also to save on cost - the alcohol is BYO. A place not to be missed and if you are worried about the crowds - check it out on a weekday - naturally much less crowded.
