To the editors:

Not long ago, one of the writers in the Tribune's Style section referred to the Blue Angels as part of the Air Force. I wasn't surprised since that fits in with the mindless image of the entire section, but I was surprised when the same silly error appeared in the lead of Lawrence Bommer's article on Bughouse Square in the July 24 issue of the Reader. Even if Mr. Bommer and the copy editor are ignorant of the fact that the Blue Angels, a Navy aerobatics team, were nowhere near Chicago that weekend, a simple check of almost any local newspaper for the past several weeks could have provided information on the Air and Water Show and who was performing there. The error isn't earthshaking, but it makes you look sloppy.
