The word Jagoff is from Pittsburghese. It can also be defined differently depending on how it is used. Kind of like the word "bad." Is bad bad or is bad good? Ya Jagoff is something you can yell at an idiot driver or someone who cut in your starbucks line. But a Pittsburgher might also use it if they see you for the first time in 20 years, "How in the hell have you been, Ya Jagoff!" They Mayor got behind the dictionary project because it was a fundraiser for a local charity. See link-->
