Mark Twain self published Huckleberry Finn and John Grisham self published A Time To Kill. The list is long and the market is threatened.

Traditional Publishing Houses, where good, are also slow and give short shelf time to their authors. They are not for everybody in the industry who write for a living. I hardly believe quick books from pop celebrities sitting in my local bookstore are filled with anything other than ego and little literary function or merit.

I'm sorry this writer has concluded his theory in using an experiment with a handful of books to compare to thousands of literary works in circulation.
All this article did for me was highlight the narrow and very cliche mantra of judging a book by it's cover once again.
