You cannot disconnect sections of a crisis, say we want this part of the natural disaster not that other part. When you invoke Katrina, or a world war, you invoke the whole thing. The events that led up to it, the atrocities that occurred during it, the carelessness and further atrocities that occurred after the fact and the people who lost everything. In the case of Katrina, the French Quarter didn't get washed away, it's on higher ground. So the equivalent here would be for the natural disaster to erase everything south of North Ave but spare downtown. You dear author need to be dragged over the coals for missing the point too.
