Re: “Anung's First American Christmas

This play beautifully melds Ojibwe cultural elements and legend, breathtaking puppetry, scenic details and staging with witty and sometimes hysterically funny, then profound dialogue into a story that parallels the Christmas story we all know. The cast is phenomenal; they kept the story moving forward with emotion and wonder that makes this piece just delightful. This is a thoughtful piece with many layers and one must be willing to put in the effort to appreciate all that it has to offer.
