The host is chatty and knowledgeable. Don't be put off by the chip on his shoulder - he is just proud of his food and wine. Do not plan on drinking California wines. This is not the place to go for exotic or innovative food. The host also recommended the rack of lamb. They do what they do right.

They got us in to the restaurant on a Saturday night on short notice, when they appeared pretty busy.

One smoker will penetrate the room. The diners did not smoke.
