Three sensitive portraits of individuals in crisis make up this 1998 Greek feature. In the first and strongest an archaeologist whose son committed suicide a year earlier searches for people who knew the young man; the suicide itself is rarely mentioned, and director Pantelis Voulgaris's elliptical presention powerfully conveys the survivors' inability to comprehend or even mention the act. In the second a game warden must decide how to confront a poacher who's killed an endangered goose, and in the third a wealthy businessman whose wife and children have left him gets drunk in a club and pays the owner for the pleasure of seeing the place destroyed, from the plates to the entire building. 118 min.
