Re: “Marigold

I am a vegetarian, and I have come to the conclusion after 3 visits that I will never go back here again. The flavors are just plain wrong. The naan is terrible, compared to the stuff you get on Devon. I have had, by my count, their whole vegetarian menu and I am sad to say none of these are upto par. Saag Paneer should be an easy dish to make. The version here is worse than the stuff I can make. Chana Masala is too tamarindy. Good chana masala should have a tang of tamarind without being sour. Tha sauce base should be onion/garlic/gingery. Not the way I was served. The Eggplant and Okra dishes were supposed to be Delhi style, but were too dry. All in all, maybe their kitchen does a much better job with the meat dishes, but if you are vegetarian avoid this place.

Re: “The complete schedule of the 2018 Chicago Blues Festival

The lineup this year is the best in a looooong while. I am really bummed that this will be the first fest I will miss in 23 years of going. Dang!!

Re: “Going beyond bronies at the My Little Pony Fair

I want to thank you for this hilarious writeup. I was reading this on the L and people were looking at me like I was nuts.

The bit about cloppers and their being a porn for any fetish!?! What the hell?

And your dad calling them "my little Jackasses". Outstanding.

Thank you.

“But because we are constantly surrounded by artificial radio waves, we are not as in tune with those natural frequencies.”

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

As a Chemist, it really bothers me that people can get away with pseudo-science bullshit like this. The saddest thing is that these idjits really believe this.

The first time I started to really pay attention to this kinda crap was when I heard a Shampoo being advertised as the be-all-to-end-all-amazingest-shampoo because it contained alpha-hydrox.

Re: “Xi'an Cuisine is Chinatown's idea of a sandwich shop

I think this is a large influence of muslim cooking as Xi'an was the end point for the silk road. Hence a lot of lamb dishes.

Another thing that surprised me was the sheer number of vegetarian dishes on this ridiculously small menu. And yes, the tofu noodles were fantastic. This may be my favorite appetizer now that lao hunan is sadly closed (Jade Tofu).
