Our Review

Something inspires confidence in Indian Grill the moment you enter. Could be the linens and attractive glassware on the tables, could be they live sitarist playing to the sparsely seated restaurant on a Sunday night, could have been the lack of overwhelming smells in the dining area. We put this place to a tough test by ordering mutter paneer (cheese cubes with green peas and spices) and lamb saag (lamb with spinach and spices). Both were outstanding--comparable or better than Indian Garden, Raj Darbar, or just about anywhere on Devon. The lamb cubes were tender cuts of prime lamb. Indian Grill also wins points for well-rounded consistency. The mango lassis are creamy mango smoothies. The naan was warm and fresh. The usual spicy, minty, and tamarind dipping sauces that accompanied the pappadum were fresh and clean. For those who like chunks of unknown things in the tamarind, you'll be disappointed. For those who like the appearance that the same dipping sauces have been used on other people's tables throughout the evening, you'll be disappointed, too.
