American Indian photographer Edward S. Curtis, whose images of the American west and “vanishing” native cultures served as sentimental stereotypes for decades, directed this quasi-documentary 1914 silent, about “love, war, and ritual” among Pacific northwest tribalists before the European invasions. It's the first of only two films Curtis ever completed. 47 min. Sun 9/27, 3 PM. David Drazin will provide live piano accompaniment.
