In his brand-new review of The Five Obstructions ["Plumbing the Shallows," September 10] Rosenbaum mistakenly refers to three films by Lars von Trier--Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark, and Dogville--as his "American trilogy." Lars von Trier is indeed in the process of creating a trilogy on the subject of America--which is officially titled "America: The Land of Opportunities"--which started with his 2004 feature Dogville, and the second piece of the three is 2005's Manderlay, which has already gained controversy over the killing of a donkey in the film. Breaking the Waves, in particular, isn't even set in America.
