Diana Mucci-Beauchamp's interviews with 100 single men distinguish her debut script from other ruminations on the ruminated-to-death subject of dating. The guys at the play's central location--an airport bar--alternately reinforce and disprove the notion that men want only sex, food, and football, relaying stories that range from surreal (one man gets sex when he dresses like Superman) to sweet (another waits too long to reveal his feelings and loses a true love). Far less satisfying is the framing situation: a pushy married woman downplays her own marital problems while coaxing her younger sister back into the dating scene after a bad breakup. The attendant stories--confronting a worn-out marriage and choosing between a nice guy and a dysfunctional ex-love--are both predictable and unrealistic. Mucci-Beauchamp should either find a fresh spin or reshape her play around the intriguing men in the bar. Through 2/27: Thu-Fri 7 PM, Sat 6 and 9 PM, Sun 2 PM. Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont, 773-327-5252. $25-$27.
