Therese Shechter travels across the U.S. and Canada in this first-person video, wondering what's become of feminism. She dates her own feminist awareness to a TV special she saw at 13, but when she attends a conference where the speakers try to put the movement in the context of other political struggles she feels she's in over her head and retreats into the “transformative power of shopping.” The tone is lighthearted, and the radical cheerleader act is fun. But Shechter doesn't seem to understand her own ambivalence much, and her core message—that the often mischaracterized movement is really about personal freedom—is pretty old news. 67 min.
