I Love You, I Think | Tom Robinson Gallery | Theater & Performance, Valentine's Day | Chicago Reader
This is a past event.
When: Fridays, Saturdays. Continues through Feb. 23 2013
Price: $15
Directors Brea Hayes and Kendra Miller make shrewd use of an unconventional venue—an art gallery—for this Livewire Chicago show, which consists of around a dozen monologues about love. Actors stand amid the audience when they perform, light helping to draw our attention to them. The acting is strong, too. So what's the problem? Well, the monologues themselves. Though they can be amusing in small doses—particularly one delivered in the form of an awkward answering machine message—Bekah Brunstetter's pieces grow tedious over the course of an hour, too often coming off like contributions to a bad college writing workshop. —Tal Rosenberg
