Evanston Chinese restaurant serving Szechuan and Cantonese dishes along with Hunanese.

Our Review

There are only a few casual tables in this Evanston Chinese restaurant but they do fill up, especially at lunchtime. While the menu -- mostly Hunan, Szechuan, and Cantonese dishes -- doesn’t have many surprises, house specials like the seafood delight with scallops, jumbo shrimp, lobster, and Chinese vegetables are quite tasty, as are the mei fun dishes made with thin rice vermicelli. The cold sesame noodles are just right: thick chewy egg noodles with a few slivers of carrots and scallion doused in a creamy peanut sauce. Portions are large, and half orders are available for many dishes.
