Hostage Crisis at Old Town School

To the editors:

I saw your listing: Andrew Calhoun and Kat Eggleston at the Old Town School on Friday, May 10, at 8:30. Aware that there might be last minute changes, I called them and they assured me that the "Featured Performers" would appear, as advertised, at 8:30.

I arrived at the school at 8:28 after a long drive from Wheaton, only to be told that students were appearing and that the performers I had driven so far to see would be on at 10 PM. I can understand a ten minute delay in scheduled time, but an hour and a half? In an apparently deliberate attempt to secure a captive audience for students? Is this fair? Is this reasonable? Is this lying to the public?

Several people said, "This happens all the time!"
