Your cover stories are getting better & better with each issue!

I was really impressed with your Adam Langer story of 1/13/89 with the spotlite on those oldies but goldies local rock bands & last week's issue of the two kind elderly folks who have the no-kill cat shelter [May 19]. But the one this week is the cat's meow ["Alex & Rena," June 2]. This one has to catapult the Chicago Reader into the category of being the "Journalistic or Written 60 Minutes of the Midwest!"

Alex & Rena--Bonnie & Clyde--Harold & Maude. Those great teams that soap opera life are made up about. Fortunately, I am in contact with a Beverly Hills Production Company that is always looking for movies for the prime time networks. Needless to say, I have sent this story to them, hoping that they will be able to interest/sell it to one of the networks.

That way, Rena could find a happy ending to this terrible ploy--she could even act in the made-for-TV special & recoup her losses & even become the next Granny type--Where's The Beef? personality of the geriatric set!

I can't promise anything will happen, but at least the story will get some consideration & perhaps some remuneration down the line.

Again, the stories are super! What's in store for us next week?
