Hollywood Boulevard

The ultimate in-joke movie, with a number of Roger Corman alumni (among them Paul Bartel and Jonathan Kaplan) satirizing themselves and the B-movies they make. Rife with hommages and featuring a number of very funny ideas, it's likely to be incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't followed 70s exploitation filmmaking with tremendous care, a limitation that might be safely applied to 99 percent of the population. Joe Dante and Allan Arkush directed (1976).
