To the editors:

In your lead story "Bury My Heart at Lot 23" [October 2], Lucille Keating, the bouncy white-headed grandmother, may be a gracious hostess, but her remark, "If I had known this was an Indian burial ground, I would have cut down on my fertilizer bill," tells us much more about her.

As for the prospective developers of her property, I know where they should stick their poles!
