When: Wed., Oct. 21, 11:14 a.m. 2009
www.celebratehighwood.com
Be a part of pumpkin carving history, as the City of Highwood hosts the Prelude to the Great Pumpkin Festival of 2010. Area partygoers big and small will join together to carve over 1,000 pumpkins that will light up the “Great Wall of Pumpkins,” one of Chicagoland’s largest exhibitions of jack-o-lanterns on a 32 foot high by 90 foot wide wall of scaffolding in downtown Highwood. Activities include: farmers market vendors selling their goods, trick or treating through the town from 3- 6 pm, continued pumpkin carving, hay rides from 3-8 pm, live music from 6-8 pm, hot cider, and the lighting of the pumpkins at 6:30 pm. Festivities will carry on until 8 pm.
