What a waste of a human being [The Business, December 3]. And a talented human being at that. Tim Beamish died because he couldn't afford the medical attention he needed.

The problem is not that "theater doesn't give much back" to those working in it. The problem is that America, the richest country in the Western world, doesn't have the will to look after its own when they get sick. Health care should not be dependent on the job you have--or whether you even have a job.

When will Americans wake up to the fact that it does not have to be like this?
