Don't think I'm being mean when I call this show 45 minutes of hell. That's exactly what it's designed to be. I just wish hell were more entertaining. The house ensemble at the newborn Under the Gun Theater came up with a potentially amusing concept, framing five interrelated sketches as a presentation by the youth group of Trinity Evangelical Christian Church of the Blood of Jesus. We meet 19-year-old Marcus, who flees TV night with his idiotic parents to attend a rave with his pathetic buddies. There he meets 16-year-old born-again Julia, they hook up, and his life takes a steep slide toward you know where. Warren G. Hammer is droll as an understated Satan. But the cast settle for easy, familiar laughs overall, putting too much faith in the comic power of a floppy red dildo. They've got to get serious if they want to be funny. —Tony Adler
