Haïti-Soleil is a non-profit organization based in Port-au-Prince and Berkeley and founded by Haitian scholar Nadege Clitandre. In a country where there are few schools, and no public library, the mission of the cultural center’s she founded in the Carrefour-Feuilles neighborhood of Port-au-Prince is to promote education, inter-culturalism and artistic development as well as provide emergency funds for the area. This benefit will include performances by Daniel Désir, "Tchaka Roots of Haiti", a presentation by Celia Weiss Bambara and much more. A reception will follow along with a raffle of Haitian and Caribbean Litterature and CDs.
