Good Irish fare in a very attractive Irish pub.

Re: “Sweet Maple Cafe

The food is fairly good, although my omelet was just barely warm enough for eating. The decor consists of nailed plywood sheets with worn paint. The walls are painted such that some different paint is revealed, kind of like an old porch. As for Maple Leaf moniker, they have a dozen or so small maple leaf wallpaper appliques on the wall -- yawn! I felt like I was in someone's garage after they tried to finish and paint it. Where as the barbeque?

Re: “Andies Restaurant

Good service, food and they take care of you very well. The manager came around to double-check on everyone, too.

Go here if you want to eat something unique. It's located across the street from the Alley and its funky neighbors. The decor disappointed me. They made an effort to put together a basic, open place, but the plywood banquettes and $3 porcelain ceiling light fixtures like you'd put in a closet didn't appeal to me. The food is good, but it's creative and probably qualifies as "fru fru." Skewered French toast was good, pancakes were doughy, although creative. They offer fruit drinks, but the small size is a little too small.

Re: “Via Veneto Ristorante

Unassuming, small, laid-back Italian restaurant. Liquor available.

Re: “Hai Yen

Nice place, and it seems fairly new and very clean. Of note, they have iced latte drinks made with fruit juice and tapioca balls sitting on the bottom, so get a large-diameter straw to suck 'em up. Appetizer selection was good.

Re: “Tiffin

This is one of best Indian restuarants in the city and the service is better than average. Food is always good. However, it can get a bit noisy when filled up. Full bar choices. Atmosphere has beautiful red-stained oak trim, a painted sky on the central ceiling and rainbow wall sconces.

Re: “Mysore Woodlands

Mysore is owned by The Indian Garden restaurant next door to the north, but offers only vegetarian South Indian food. We appreciated management's flexibility -- one dinner came with dessert and they glady agreed to substitute it for a pair of small mango lassi juices. Prices are very reasonable.

Re: “Kappy's Restaurant and Pancake House

Extensive menu, but as found during a previous visit, the menu is not worded quite right on some items (e.g., "or" meant "and" for one item).
