Chicago Center for Green Technology

445 N. Sacramento

or 312-746-9642

When my local Target began touting the steps it was taking to become environmentally friendly, I knew I should do more than just reuse old grocery bags--but installing my own rain barrel seemed like a pretty big leap. The Chicago Center for Green Technology is a great resource for people like me (and probably you): in addition to a library stocked with books on green design and samples of green products, the center offers a Green Tech U program, with seminars like "The Benefits of Trees in Cities" and "Sustainable Affordable Housing." You can take a single class or earn a certificate in tracks like interior design, architecture, and "DIY Green" by taking six classes in your area of interest within a year. Registration is required.
