Re: “How to get rid of the local drug dealer

The FASTEST way to get rid of gang/drug activity is to:
1. Go to a POLICE BOARD MEETING. Ask the POLICE BOARD to ask CPD to make arrests at gang/drug houses.
2. Be sure you have great photos and perhaps upload to youtube. Ask the Board to view your outrageous videos. If the videos are outrageous enough...the BOARD will be really mad.

We had help from Commissioners of S&S, Water/Sewer, Law, CDOT, Building....but could get none from The Superintendent.

ONLY the Police Board got action.

A 30 year old heroin district was shut down in 6 weeks once the POLICE BOARD got involved.

Re: “Chicago's crime problem: A matter of "perception"

The most likely answer to all of this is the CITY and STATE are bankrupt. We cannot afford to incarcerate anyone when a juvey costs $86,000 a year to lock up.

That is why the Governor and County Board President are letting people out of jail and slowing down the loci ups. The States Attorney and Judges also are not locking up as many in the past because of disparities in Suburban and City police practices.

If the real truth is that there is no $$ to lock up people...then the answer is to do something different than leave large numbers of criminals on the streets...which cause crime to spike.

Perhaps we need to outsource so the cost of lockup is affordable Perhaps a foreign student experience could help kids get a better education and knowledge...of different ways to problem solve besides ride around in a car with a gun.

Yep...we need NEW METHODOLOGIES that we don't have now...Techies..Neurosciencientists, ...lawyers...jump in with some SOLUTIONS...and lets get going.

Re: “Looking for work in East Garfield Park

Fioretti does a great job of fighting the elements and trying to bring progress. He gets up very early in the am to ride around and call in orders to departments....
