Local troupes are joined by national and international ensembles in this annual showcase of Latino theater, which runs through 8/20. Coordinated by Henry Godinez, the fest features staged readings (all in English) and performances and discussions in both Spanish and English, as noted below. Blue Sweat

Universes--a multiethnic ensemble from the Bronx who fuse poetry, theater, jazz, hip-hop, flamenco, blues, and boleros to create politically charged theater pieces--present a company-created "portrait of artists and the vibrant culture, traditions, and personal experience they bring to their work." The show is performed in English. a 8 PM, $10-$20.

Performed in Spanish with some English translations. a 8 PM, $15-$25.

Spain's Compan'a Marta Carrasco, acclaimed in its previous appearance here in 2003, presents a dance-theater work set in the world of a traveling circus "where everything is possible and where the private lives of the characters are on public display." The piece is described as "non-language specific." a 7:30 PM, $15-$25.
