Re: “Did you read about Ferguson coverage, Ray Rice, and Wrigley Field?

Wow, haven't seen those across-the-street buildings in many years. I'm amazed at those stands on the roofs.

Re: “Lil JoJo and the blame game

"I love how white boys think it's ok to talk about us poor marginalized black folk. Like we at the bottom because of slavery, and it's not our fault it's white people's fault, and whatever we do to destroy ourselves isn’t on us. Bullshit. It’s the worst kind of racism. You are taking away our power to self-govern and gain the necessary independence to finally slap away your white hand and rise for ourselves. No, “evolved” and “enlightened” white boys like you, want to be our Great White Protector so you can tell all your friends just what a wonderful and advanced human being you are."

Re: “Paul Ryan made it, so why can't everyone?

"by his own bio, his college money came from ss death benefits. by his own bootstraps? bs.
by my tax dollars"

Geoff, you make a point, but come on, the dead father also had something to do with the SS payments his son ultimately received.

Re: “Headline Club will introduce an Anne Keegan award

Great honor for Anne!

That story related by her husband sounds...well, just weird.

Re: “Life in the Patch

Re "Why isn't Triblocal under the microscope?"

Um, because the topic at know, the one that Michael Miner of The Reader wrote this story the Patch.

Call names and use curse words, if you will. Being an Internet tough guy on a chat board is pretty much par for the course these days. But you diminish yourself. And funny, but you seem to go on just as long, or longer, about defending the typos as the person(s) who you railed on for bringing up the typos. So let's forget the typos at this point, OK? How about taking a look at the long list of other areas that could use improvement on the Patch, as pointed out by several commentators. Look at the comments by All Night Newsboy for starters.

Of course Twitter and the Internet weren't around in the 1960s . No one said they were. It was other factors that started the decline of newspapers, as the poster of that comment pointed out.

And finally, you seem all pleased and proud of yourself regarding your ability to recognize, interface and flourish (so to speak) with all the new technology, compared to others whom you dismiss so cruely. But of course, a big reason for that is because it just so happens that your coming of age and arrival on the scene coincides perfectly with the introduction and adoption of these new technologies. Oh sure, sure, you'll always be on the cutting edge as YOU age, YOU'LL never criticize anything in the future as incomplete, cheapened or anything liike that. Nah.
