Re: “Soup's On

The Soup that is a Beverage

Somehow spooning soup into one's mouth seems such a mechanical, repetitive task. For the world to finally open up to soup as a meal's beverage, the elements must be just right. The MISO soup at NORI fills the bill, and pulls it off with a smooth soybean broth, small silky tofu cubes, and a light mix of scallions and seaweed.

The soup is sent out just warm enough to drink, from the hand-size bowl like an oversized coffee mug. The pleasant flavor gently envelops the bowl and complements any signature sushi roll and creates a flavorful base to the entire meal. If you take this soup as a beverage with your meal, you'll find yourself asking for a refill.
