Four Girls (and a Guy): A One-Night Stand

When: Thursdays-Saturdays. Continues through March 2 2013
Price: $28
This Second City show comes well stocked with sketches—and a bit of improv—tailored to the golden gender ratio expressed in the title. The five performers draw from a host of political issues that affect women in particular, including abortion, burkas, senators' wives, and unwavering hatred of Michele Bachmann. As in last year's primaries, some duds turn up and solutions are rarely given. More successful are the human-interest bits: a woman searching for a man, a boyfriend who may be a bird, a metatheatrical casting call. Four Girls (and a Guy) offers an absurd romp, packed with material, satirical and sentimental, that keeps things interesting for the full 90 minutes. —Hannah Gold
