Feeling trapped by an apocalyptic storm and the grim, sobering problems of their parents, three children escape up the chimney and out into a neighborhood covered with 15 feet of snow. There they found Foreverendia, a Neverland of sorts inhabited by an imaginary friend. It's a concept more engaging in theory than in execution. Nicki Mazzocca's Black Ship Company production amounts mostly to adult actors portraying kids of an indiscernible age. When they're not painting with their feet, they're being shunned by their maudlin, operatic mothers. Brian Tuttle's wheel-spinning script could be a Very Special Episode if it had a clearer point—and a shorter running time. Foreverendia takes two and a half hours to cover territory that could be handled in 30 minutes. —Dan Jakes
