I found this place by coincidence, being in the neighborhood and looking for a spot to pass the time waiting for my ride to show up.

What a happy coincidence! A lovely little bakery with high-quality goods. The cookies are insanely delicious, and everything else looked good too.

They serve tea and Intelligentsia coffee, but don't currently have plans to expand into other coffee drinks (lattes, chai, etc). I think that's a good plan - stick to the awesome baked goods, and don't turn into just another coffee shop!

I ordered delivery for lunch from Star of India, and received exactly what I expected. Decent food, reasonably tasty, good sized portions.

This is really a greasy spoon, but sometimes that's all you want. Hot, cheap, and not too bad.

If you want gourmet Indian, try Marigold or Viceroy. For a decent Indian food fix with a wide delivery range, Star of India will do (if you're not too picky).

When I first walked in, I was very impressed with the decor - everything works together well and it's a very pleasing environment. We were greeted by CJ himself and he gave us recommendations on his favorite dishes.

The chile-crusted sirloin steak my husband ordered was wonderful - an unusual flavor combination (served on roasted corn and avocado) but it worked well and was delicious.

I had the beef stew, which was disappointing - the meat was fatty and the flavours were bland, even after adding a good dash of salt and peppr.

However, it was MORE than redeemed by the banana bread pudding dessert - it was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. I'd go back just for this!

Re: “Viceroy of India

Viceroy of India is a great restaurant for, you guessed it, Indian food. The menu has all of the typical dishes you would expect from a nice Indian restaurant, plus an extensive list of wine/beer/cocktail selections.

We ordered simply - Roghan Josh and mixed grill, and everything was good. The specials come with more than abundant naan and rice, making them a great deal.

Everything was rich and flavourful, service was good and there was no wait. I'll definitely be back.

Re: “El Cid 2

The food was fresh, tasty, and typical. Nothing special, but good mexican food.

The complimentary chips were hot and fresh and the salsas very tasty.

Our appetizer of ceviche with shrimp was delicious.

Main courses were fine, but again, nothing outstanding.
