These six unusual and striking films and videos from New Zealand mostly document installations and performances. In Leon Narbey's 1970 film of his own gallery installation, A Film of Real Time, energetic camera movements capture some of the space-filling sprawl of his maze of lights, plastic, and aluminum. Darcy Lange's Ruatoria Part 2 (Shearing Pekama) (1974) rhymes its fuzzy black-and-white video images with white wool as sheep are sheared with some of the repetitiveness of Bruce Nauman's 60s videos. Other pieces show a floor painting being created out of white powder and a neo-Cagean performance including a drum being whirled through the air. 57 min.
