This is a casual neighborhood restaurant. It is small and can get a little unconfortable if you don't like sitting in close quarters. They have a number of Cuban, Puerto Rican and Mexican dishes, though I tend to stick to the Cuban dishes. This is a very tasty place, but not at all fancy and a bit more authentic. If your idea of Latino food is the Frontera Grill, this place will not be "gourmet" enough for you. If you enjoy simple, authentic dishes that offer a lot of flavor and a great value for money.

Service is friendly, but the wait can be a bit. Some of the waitstaff take your order without writing it down first, so if your order is at all complicated, plan on having a wrinkle in it. It's fine though because the food is very good. The Bistec steak, which is thin and marinated and then grilled with onions is very flavorful. The Media Noche sandwich is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich that tastes way better than I can write about it. Appetizers are good, but "no frills". I recommend the sweet plaintains which are just as good as those found at Tania's (on North Milwaukee), but for much less money.

This place is great for lunch or an early dinner (since it can get cramped at night).

Re: “Chipotle Mexican Grill

This is a take out place. It's decor is new and modern. You can eat in, but there is no table service. The service is particularly friendly and fast. They have an interesting selection of salsa's and a small but tasty menu.
