Scott Barsotti's original 2003 play featured just two actors playing two characters, but its latest incarnation has five women as Angela, who has an autoimmune disorder that causes her body to reject her skin and bones. This unique casting approach physicalizes Angela's splintering identity as she tries to reinvent herself through plastic surgery. And it leaves her husband, Wes, played by a penetrating and raw Neal Starbird, wondering whom he's waking up next to. He queasily compares her to a retooled car—is identity nothing more than location? Fusion points? This predictable one-act could use less philosophizing and a more active look at Angela and Wes's changing psyches. —Marissa Oberlander
