Re: “Lily Allen, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head

NPSH opening act was amazing. Super high energy, funny lyrics, great band-member interplay. I'd see them any time in concert. Just wish their recordings somehow captured the band's essences.

Band switchover was waaaaaay to long (40+min), especially considering Lily's instruments were already setup.

Lily was real good. She started off seemingly disinterested but then warmed up. From her videos and such I expected her to come out a bit more dolled-up. But she wore no makeup and a cheap-looking leggings plus denim onsie-bustier thing...then changed into jeans and a bra-less loose t-shirt. Her songs were pretty much like her recordings except with synth horns only and no backup singers. She did a couple acoustic versions and intermixed a couple songs. The band was real tight and talented, but they just stood there. Lily can sure sing, but moves she has not. And shame on whoever was operating the soundboard -- drums and bass drowned out her vocals throughout the concert. Finally, 60 minutes wasn't long enough. And end with your own song, not a cover -- even an excellent one like Womanizer.
