First and still considered the best of Emilio Gervilla's tapas restaurants.

Our Review

There’s not another tapas bar in the burbs that can compete with the output of Emilio Gervilla. Start with a pitcher of sangria, then move on to an array of nibbles like triangles of tomato bread topped with Manchego cheese and ham, grilled squid in lemon oil, and chilled mussels in a three pepper vinaigrette. Main courses, such as paella and (sometimes) suckling pig, are available in large and small portions, so you can sample a variety of tapas without having to pass on the bigger plates. The original Emilio’s on Roosevelt Road in Hillside is still best, with mosaics, stone floors, and a lively crowd.
