In Puerto Rico we know taxes. We have property tax, state income tax, state sales tax, municipal sales tax, federal self employment tax. The only tax not applicable to PR is the federal income tax with the exception of US government employees and people with income outside of PR.

Also we don't have American military installations all over the island, that was in the cold war era. Today there are National Guard facilities and only one US Army base, USAG Fort Buchanan, without a true military mission, only to provide National Guard, active military, federal agencies employees and veterans of the PX service.
