Re: “Prairie Grass Cafe

Prairie Grass Cafe in Northbrook is touted as Sarah Stegner's fabulous restaurant. It feels more like a loud 2nd grade lunch room than anything else. The room was so loud and small that we opted to sit in the smoky bar so we could have a normal adult conversation. Food was ho-hum, just fine, nothing terrific. I expected that the tomatoes in the tomato avocado cucumber salad would be garden fresh -- they weren't! The beet salad was the same beet salad you can get at just about any restaurant in chicago -- and horrors -- I think the beets were jarred, they didn't taste fresh.

Anyway, this place is definitely not worth going back to.
Sorry.
