The Early Renaissance marks the period of European history at the close of the Middle Ages and the rise of the Modern world and represents a cultural rebirth from the fourteenth through the middle of the seventeenth centuries. The class will explore the works of the first truly Renaissance artists who emerged in Florence around 1401, painter Sandro Botticelli, architect Filippo Brunelleschi, and sculptors Donatello and Lorenzo Ghiberti.
