Re: “Good Prose From the Past

I find myself sad. I first met Cliff about eight years ago, when he was selling, of all things, a motorcycle. His brother in Canada had sorted out a Honda V500F, and passed it along to Cliff, who was in turn sending it along to another motorcyclist.

Cliff was, in my short time with him, gracious, thoughtful and kind.

Long since, the small matter of the motorcycle receded to the background. But with every column that Cliff wrote, I was hooked. He was a fabulous writer and a very reliable writer.

Thanks for the motorcycle, Cliff, and thanks for all the fabulous writing.
