Re: “Epic Proportions

I think the point of the show is that it IS a relic of a bygone era. I found it funny throughout and enjoyed the cast immensely. Give credit to comic timing and the wonderful fight scenes. It's a pleasure to go out to a show that finds comedy in other aspects than sexual innuendo and cheap, rude dialogue. Why do shows such as 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' still entertain? Situational humor and slapstick thrown in as needed.
A film in the works should not deprive small theater from producing works that speak to them. Is it then okay to produce a musical based on a film (think Billy Elliot)?
