In this spoof set in 1969, director Sean Cusick and company send up campy sci-fi flicks, military propaganda reels, soft-core porn, and early cigarette commercials. The humor ranges from wordplay (check off becomes Chekhov) to innuendo/gross-out ("I'll make sense--in your hair") to the offbeat ("In my spare time I sit down"). The show features werewolves, hippies, genius doctors/inventors, and Nazis (including a queenish Hitler) as well as some surprising blocking and antitheatrical exits. There are more than enough titillating details, but I found them distracting: too few bits are given their due because of peripheral plots and gags. Still, it's satisfying to see Dr. Amazing save the day, and the cast--including many talented up-and-comers--is strong top to bottom. --Ryan Hubbard a Open run: Sun 8 PM, Annoyance Theatre, 4840 N. Broadway, 773-561-4665, $10.
