Italian actor Sergio Castellitto (Mostly Martha) directed and stars in this bologna sandwich about the impossible love between a married surgeon and a woman from the wrong side of the tracks (Penelope Cruz). Their Harlequin romance begins when his car breaks down, she allows him to use her phone, and he rapes her—a critical event that Castellitto fails to motivate adequately or stage convincingly, jazzing it up with arty jump cuts—and from there it's all downhill. The movie's press notes asserted that, like Charlize Theron in Monster, “Cruz dares to appear in Don't Move transformed before the camera”; this must refer to the slight gap between her front teeth, which looks like it was drawn on with Magic Marker. In Italian with subtitles. 125 min.
