D.O.A.

A clever but not particularly memorable film noir (1949), directed by the great cinematographer Rudolph Mate (who photographed Dreyer's Vampyr and McCarey's Love Affair, among many other important films). Edmond O'Brien, in high sweat, is a businessman who discovers that someone has slipped him a slow-acting poison; he has 24 hours to find his killer. With Luther Adler and Pamela Britton.
