Now in its fifth year, the Do-Division Street Fest runs Sat 6/4 and Sun 6/5 on Division between Ashland and Leavitt, with two stages of music—one presented by the Empty Bottle, the other by House Call Entertainment (which books Subterranean and Beat Kitchen). On Sat 6/4 the Empty Bottle stage (at Damen) features a downtempo DJ set by headliner Bonobo as well as performances by neo-Cambodian psych rockers Dengue Fever, masked bubblegum-garage hero Nobunny, indie duo Mirah & Thao, and more; the House Call stage (at Leavitt) closes its day with spot-on tribute act Led Zeppelin 2, after sets by blues rockers the Steepwater Band, airy pop band Moxie Motive, and others. On Sun 6/4 the Bottle stage gets even louder and sassier, with a lineup that includes Syrian party starter Omar Souleyman, local sibling garage duo White Mystery, New York noise-rock band A Place to Bury Strangers (see page B19), and sissy-bounce sensation Big Freedia; among the artists on the House Call stage that day are California Wives, Empires, and Talking Heads tribute This Must Be the Band.

A sidewalk sale that runs the length of the fest includes a host of salons, boutiques, bakeries, and restaurants that call Division Street home. The Family Fun Fest (open till 6 PM on Hoyne between Division and Potomac) includes face painting, cookie decorating, pony rides, and a bounce house. Do-Division runs from noon till 10 PM both days, and music starts at 1 PM. Admission is a $5 suggested donation, which will benefit the West Town Chamber of Commerce, the Division Street Committee, and three local elementary schools.
